Thunderbird 138 Introduces New Default Color Override for Enhanced High Contrast Mode on Linux
Thunderbird 138, the latest version of the popular open-source email client, has been released with several noteworthy updates aimed at improving accessibility and user experience on Linux and macOS.
One of the significant changes is the introduction of a default color override for High Contrast mode. Unlike previous versions, which set this option to “Never,” Thunderbird 138 will now automatically adjust the colors as specified in the content when a High Contrast theme is activated. In addition to the color override, the new release includes message disposition buttons for new email alerts and allows for customization of new email notifications within macOS settings, thereby enhancing user interaction.
