The Archinstall 3.0.9 release for the Arch Linux distribution introduces several exciting features aimed at enhancing the installation process. Notably, this new version adds support for Bluetooth connections, enabling users to configure Bluetooth devices right during installation.
Another significant addition is the support for U2F (Universal 2nd Factor) authentication, providing improved security options during installation. Users can also now modify the LUKS (Linux Unified Key Setup) iteration time through a dedicated interface. Additionally, a new --skip-boot
option allows users to bypass bootloader installation if desired.
The update also includes the capability to install the inotify-tools package alongside grub-btrfs when using the GRUB bootloader with a Btrfs setup. Other notable changes include restructuring the menu for the Root Password and Users, along with fixes for boot detection and audio configuration.
Archinstall 3.0.9 is already available in Arch Linux’s stable repositories, and users can start using it with the latest Arch Linux ISO snapshot. For those interested in compiling from source, the source tarball can be downloaded from the project’s GitHub page.
