The Document Foundation announced today the release of LibreOffice 24.2.4, making it the fourth maintenance update in the LibreOffice 24.2 series, addressing over 70 bugs.
Coming just over a month after LibreOffice 24.2.3, this new update continues to enhance the stability and reliability of the suite by fixing various bugs, crashes, and other reported issues in the LibreOffice 24.2 series.
Specifically, the LibreOffice 24.2.4 update rectifies a total of 72 issues, as detailed in the release changelogs available on the RC1 and RC2 pages at the Document Foundation’s wiki. You can download the updated binaries for DEB and RPM-based GNU/Linux distributions directly from the official website .
Those who have installed LibreOffice 24.2 from their Linux distribution’s software repositories will need to wait until the 24.2.4 update is available through those channels. Alternatively, source code downloads are also available for enthusiasts interested in compiling the software themselves.
LibreOffice 24.2 was launched on January 31st, 2024, featuring significant updates including a new calendar-based versioning system, enhanced security and accessibility options, and better compatibility with MS Office applications.
This version, LibreOffice 24.2, will receive seven maintenance releases until its end of support on November 30th, 2024. The subsequent release, LibreOffice 24.2.5, is scheduled for release in mid-July 2024.
