Simple, Flexible Firewall Control Directly in the Cloud Portal
Security and control are essential when managing cloud infrastructure, and ColoCrossing continues to enhance the Cloud Portal with features designed to give users more visibility and flexibility. The new VPS firewall is now available directly within the Cloud Portal at no additional cost, giving customers advanced network protection without added fees or upgrades.
This built-in firewall enables users to create custom firewall plans that define how traffic is handled before it ever reaches the operating system. Rules can be set for inbound and outbound traffic, with support for IPv4, TCP and UDP protocols, specific ports, and IP ranges. Each firewall plan also includes a default policy, allowing traffic to be accepted or dropped unless explicitly defined by a rule, providing a strong security baseline while keeping configuration straightforward.
Firewall rules can be added, modified, or removed directly from the portal without needing to access the server itself. This makes it easy to block unused ports, restrict access to management services like SSH, or allow traffic only from trusted IP addresses. Changes are applied quickly, giving users immediate control over their network security.

The VPS Firewall is especially valuable for customers running production workloads, development environments, or customer facing applications that require an additional layer of protection. By managing firewall rules at the infrastructure level, users can reduce exposure to unwanted traffic while maintaining full flexibility over how services are accessed, all without incurring extra costs.
This update is part of ColoCrossing’s ongoing commitment to delivering powerful, user friendly tools within the Cloud Portal. Alongside features such as OS reinstall, networking controls, usage graphs, and rescue mode, the VPS Firewall helps customers build secure and reliable cloud environments with no added complexity or expense.
